I'm on a mission. And for many who know me this is clear, for those who hear it for the first time it often is somewhat confusing. Every day I am working on "solving societal problems with technology and entrepreneurship". This mission started in 2014 as a long journey to change the world in a smart non-bureaucratic way. To change how people work together and their working conditions, to change how life and work are perceived, to improve education and knowledge spread, to improve equal devision of capital and to prepare the world for the next generation of technology and innovation. I knew I could not do it all at once, hence I chopped the journey up in 5 phases. PHASE 1: set up a technology driven service company which has autonomy of every individual as it's primal value, where employees decide themselves what, how and when to do their work, and where everyone can co-own and co-create the company (done, it's name is FORYARD) PHASE 2: work on societal issues like debt, capital devision, education plans, etc. by helping government and social enterprises to solve societal problems via innovation tracks and software development (done, FORYARD clients do exactly this) PHASE 3: choose a social problem to solve individually by building a new platforms and setting up a new social enterprise while start measuring our impact (in progress, Share Council, solving capital divide) PHASE 4: promote this new way of working international by opening new branches (in progress, Share Council focus Europe, FORYARD branches in US and Asia) PHASE 5: set up a fund to support world wide improvement of social enterprises based on technology (first fund in progress, focus on Capital Divide) It is taking us longer than expected, it's more difficult than I could have foreseen, but we have persistence, it seems to be working, and we will succeed.
